S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Will Last For Hundreds Of Hours
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is expected to take hundreds of hours to complete if players fully explore the game and complete all of the side quests.
Stalker 2 is an upcoming open-world first-person shooter that was first revealed in 2010, but production was halted in 2012, and then scrapped, before being relaunched in 2018. The game was announced for PC and Xbox Series X in August of 2020, and the developer, GSC Game World, has been very vocal about it since then.
In an interview with GamingBolt, PR manager for GSC Game World Zakhar Bocharov said in no uncertain terms that the game will be a long one stating:
“It’s a very long game even if you decide to follow only the main quest. Hundreds of hours can be spent if you want to do more exploration and side quests.”
Bocharov also stated that the game would be a Next-Gen exclusive because it would be “impossible to run” on Xbox One which is quite a bold statement regarding the size of this game.
Although the plot of the sequel hasn’t been divulged as yet fans are looking forward to more Scavengers, Trespassers, Adventurers, Loners, Killers, Explorers, and Robbers. The games are set in The Zone, the region surrounding the Chernobyl disaster site, in an alternate universe in which a second explosion at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant happens twenty years after the first, causing strange changes in the surrounding area.
People known as Stalkers enter The Zone in search of “Anomalies”, artifacts with special physical properties such as anti-gravity or radiation absorption, and all this for personal financial gain. The ultimate goal of each game is to hit the Zone’s center, a challenge made more difficult by the numerous threats and hazards that exist there.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.2 has no set release date and currently, GSC Game World has no plans to bring the game over to PS5 although this could change in the future. Stay tuned to MGR Gaming for the latest updates on this exciting news.
